Later Life

The Later Life Group will run for 10 weeks, meeting weekly for 60 - 90 minutes.  Individuals will find this group beneficial if they are noticing changes in their physical and mental ability, experiencing anxiety about the future or death, wrestling with making sense of their past, unsure of the meaning of their life, or feel alone in the sadness and confusion that comes with any of these topics.

Logotherapy focuses on finding meaning in life, even in the face of unavoidable suffering, by actively engaging with people and activities that align with one’s core identity and values. Each week the group facilitator will provide a different discussion topic to help members explore their thoughts and feelings related to it and how it fits into a broader framework of personal meaning.  Topics will include: Confronting death, spirituality, loneliness, identity, and reflection on one’s life.  Meetings will also include written and thought exercises.

Members can participate as much or as little as they would like and members do not need to commit to attending or participating in a certain number of meetings.  The goal of this group is to provide relief in normalizing later life experiences and provide tools for creating a stronger, more clear sense of identity and purpose in later life alongside others.
